Splash Week is a national YMCA community outreach program designed to increase the awareness of water safety to local youths ages 6-12 at no cost. Program participants not only learn the fundamentals of water safety, such as how to behave in certain aquatic environments, how to protect one’s self in the event of an aquatic emergency, and how to help others in the event of an aquatic emergency. They will also learn proper techniques including body alignment for flotation, and breathing mechanics.
Register between May 1-June 17. Participants must be at least 6 years old by June 24, 2011.
Each child will receive a discounted price for a session of swim lessons in the 2011 year at the member rate; up to 60% savings on cost. Each child will also receive a free t-shirt for their participation for the week!
