If you want to change your life and enjoy all the benefits of exercise we have many great programs to help you along the way.  Below are a few of our specialized programs to help you reach all of your fitness goals.  All of the group classes are only $5 per class for members and $10 for non-members. Ask about our group rate for non-members!   

Burn 30
If you want a challenging and rewarding group fitness class join one of our multiple boot camps at either location.  Make your lunch break useful and join the Burn 30 Boot Camp and get the same results in only 30 minutes that you would with a traditional 60 minute class.  This class runs in 6 week sessions and the new session starts Sep 6th and 7th.  Sign up at either location’s service counter.     

Prevention Park YMCA, Mon, Wed and Fri 12:15pm – 12:45pm and Tue and Thu 5:15pm – 5:45pm. New Beginner Class Available! Tue and Thu 12:15pm - 12:45pm. Only at Prevention Park.

Boot Camp Xtreme
This class is one hour and one of the most challenging classes we offer at the YMCA.  You will do everything from swing sledgehammers to flip tires in this class.  It is extremely challenging but the sense of accomplishment you get from finishing will be well worth the work.  This class is ongoing and you may start at anytime.

Group Fitness Training
GFT has been a staple of the Frankfort YMCA fitness program for over 7 years and we have had multiple participants lose over 100 pounds and seen many changes their lives for the better.  GFT is a group fitness class that works on strength and cardiovascular fitness with dumbbells and tubing.  It is a circuit class where we do each exercise for one minute and you can go at your own pace so everyone gets to work out to their fitness level.  No matter if you are a beginner or advanced exerciser GFT will help you reach your fitness goals.

Downtown YMCA, Tue and Thu 5:30pm – 6:30 pm
 
Fit In Four
Great for beginners, Fit In Four is a strength training class that last for 4 weeks. If you have any questions about what you should do to get started on your road to a healthier life this class is for you. Our main goal is to help you become comfortable using the strength training equipment while at the same time ensuring your safety. The class is led by one of our certified fitness instructors to ensure you a productive yet safe workout. 

Prevention Park YMCA, Tue and Thu 2pm - 3pm. 

Personal Training
If you prefer one on one attention we have 8 certified personal trainers on staff that are available at both locations and various times to suit your needs.  Our trainers work with athletes, youth, older adults or just the basic health seeker looking for a healthier lifestyle.  You will receive personal instruction on what exercises to do and how to perform them safely.  Let one of our certified trainers help you reach all your health goals. Do all your group classes charge a fee to attend?
No, the majority of our fitness classes are included with your membership.  You can attend any class listed on the fitness schedule if you are a YMCA member unless noted otherwise.  Pick up a Fitness Schedule Brochure for all times and a short description of each class.  Determine what class you want to try and be present at the time provided on the schedule. 
  
What types of classes do you offer at the YMCA?
We offer all types of classes at both facilities.  We have land based and water based classes so no matter what your interest is we should have a class to suit you.  Just a few of our group exercise classes include Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Step, Cycling, Fit Boxing, Aquatic Fitness including Deep Water, Shallow Water and Arthritis Plus.  See the Fitness Schedule Brochure for a complete list of classes including a brief description of each class.  

Do you have any classes for active older adults?
Yes, we offer many classes that would be suitable for older adults.  If you have problems with arthritis, try one of our many aqua classes.  You can receive a great workout without the pounding of weight bearing exercise.  There will be a certified aqua instructor and lifeguard on duty during aqua classes for your safety.  Flexibility is crucial to maintain as you age and yoga is a great choice when trying to stay flexible.

Do you offer programs for children? 
Yes!  KidFit is a very popular and will teach your child the importance of healthy living while having fun at the same time.  Check the fitness schedule for times and location.

What is MobileFit?
MobileFit is a web based program that will allow you as a member to print out exercise routines, meal plans and will also allow you to track your progress along the way.  Let MobileFit take all of the guess work out of your fitness plan.  You can register at the MobileFit kiosk at either location.
